Capehope Border Collies
About us
Rona Hughson & Suti (Capehope Inja Sutispot) and Toni Lock & Sana (Capehope Injasana)
The Kennel Club affix 'Capehope' is held by Toni Lock and Rona Hughson. In collaboration with Janet Downie and Kelly Stirling, they have bred 7 litters of pedigreed Border Collies that have competed successfully in several working disciplines including AGILITY, FLYBALL, HEELWORK TO MUSIC, OBEDIENCE and ISDS SHEEPDOG HERDING. So, the potential is there for great things……
The Capehope line starts with Mats (Lethans Maximillion), bred by Jeanette Hastie, and Whiz (Careless Whisper), bred by Helen Nicholson.
Whiz was a member of the British team that won the FCI World Agility Team Championship in 2003. Mats accumulated the highest number of points for wins and placings nation-wide to win the Burgess Supa Dog Senior title in 1999. 4 successive generations (including Mats and Whiz’s sire Algo Joe) have competed in UK Kennel Club Grade 7 agility championship classes.
Capehope collies have won 5 Challenge Certificates, 10 Reserve CCs, Scottish Agility Dog of the Year (2003), the Highland Final (2006), the Highland Morning Event (2002 and 2010), the KC International Junior Championship (2013) and the Open Junior Agility Championship (2014). They have represented Scotland or South Africa at the World Agility Open Championships, the European Open, the KC Festival, Crufts and Olympia. They have been on the winners' podium at the Dania Cup (in Denmark), and the KC Festival, and have been in the top 3 of the Scottish Agility Dog of the Year and Highland Final too many times to remember.
